What the bonus is worth

Est. $620+ value

50,000 points × 1.25¢

Bilt Rewards points have no fixed cash rate, so the floor is the low end of what points sites say they're worth: $620 at 1.25¢ per point. Good redemptions reach 2¢ per point.

What points sites say: 1.25¢ to 2¢ per point

Third-party valuations: what points sites estimate points are worth on average, not a cash value or an issuer promise. Your value depends on how you redeem.

Biggest catches

  • Gift cards, Venmo and other cash-like spend don't count. Prepaid cards, gift cards, money orders, wire transfers and person-to-person payments (Venmo, PayPal, Cash App, Zelle) aren't eligible purchases, so they earn no points or Bilt Cash and don't count toward the $4,000. Annual and late fees don't count either. bilt.com
  • Spend must post inside the 90 days. Bilt counts a purchase on the date the merchant processes it, not when you swipe. A purchase made on day 89 that posts on day 91 doesn't count. bilt.com
  • Rent no longer earns free points. Under Bilt 2.0, rent and mortgage earn points only through Bilt Cash or by hitting everyday-spend thresholds each billing cycle. The old free 1X on rent is gone. doctorofcredit.com (third-party)
  • Bilt Cash expires every December 31. Unused Bilt Cash expires at year end and only $100 rolls over. Spend the annual $200 and the 4% you earn before December. bilt.com
  • Clawbacks if you close or downgrade early. Bilt may offset the welcome points and Bilt Cash if you close within 30 days, and reverse hotel credits if you close within 90 days of receiving one. Downgrading can reverse rewards and leave your points balance negative. bilt.com
  • It takes a Chase 5/24 slot. The Bilt card shows up as a new personal account, so it counts toward Chase's 5/24. Old Bilt cardholders who moved to Bilt 2.0 likely used a slot too. doctorofcredit.com (third-party)
  • One welcome bonus per Bilt Card 2.0. Welcome bonuses are only for people who don't hold, haven't held, and haven't received a bonus on a Bilt Card 2.0. If you switched from the old Bilt card into Blue or Obsidian, you can't later earn the Palladium bonus. bilt.com

YMMV: approval and bonus eligibility are the issuer's decision.

Sensei's move

  1. Turn Bilt Cash into rent points

Every $30 of Bilt Cash redeemed unlocks 1,000 points on housing payments, up to 1X. Since Palladium earns 4% Bilt Cash on everyday purchases plus the $200 annual Bilt Cash, a renter can recycle it into points on rent each month. What was cut: Bilt 2.0 (cards live February 7, 2026) ended free points on rent.

  2. Point accelerator for 3X

Bilt Cash can also unlock a point accelerator that adds 1X to category spend, up to $5,000 on Palladium and Obsidian. TPG's writer took Palladium to 3 points per dollar this way and was on the fourth of five allowed boosts by July 2026.

  3. 1:1 transfers, including Hyatt

Bilt Points transfer 1:1 to 28 airline and hotel partners. Hyatt at 1:1 is the standout hotel option, and Atmos (Alaska/Hawaiian) is among the airline options TPG's writer uses.

  4. Stack the hotel credit with Bilt Cash

In the Bilt Travel Portal you can apply the $200 hotel credit and also pay part of the stay with Bilt Cash. TPG's writer stacked one credit with $100 of Bilt Cash on a resort stay.

Sensei's take

  • Fair churn
  • Keep a few years
  • Travel wallet: maybe

As a churn it's fair: 50,000 points plus $300 Bilt Cash for $4,000 is decent, but it's once per Bilt Card 2.0 and it takes a 5/24 slot. The $200 annual Bilt Cash and $400 in hotel credits cover the $495 fee only if you book two 2-night stays a year in the Bilt portal. If you pay rent or a mortgage and route everyday spend here, it's worth keeping for several years to turn Bilt Cash into housing points and transfer 1:1 to Hyatt. If you don't, the credits are too narrow and it's only a maybe.
