What the bonus is worth
Est. $200+ value
20,000 miles × 1¢
At least $200 at Capital One's own rate of 1¢ per mile, the floor you can count on. Booking travel or moving miles to partners can stretch them further: points sites put them at up to 1.7¢ each.
Based on Capital One's own example value of about 1¢ per mile; transfers can be worth more.
"You could earn 52,800 miles per year, a $528 value."
What points sites say: 1¢ to 1.7¢ per mile
Third-party valuations: what points sites estimate points are worth on average, not a cash value or an issuer promise. Your value depends on how you redeem.

Biggest catches
- Any Venture-family bonus in 48 months blocks it. VentureOne excludes anyone who earned a VentureOne, Venture or Venture X bonus in the past 48 months. A Venture X or Venture bonus you already have makes this offer unavailable. capitalone.com
- Every application pulls all three bureaus. Capital One pulls Experian, Equifax and TransUnion for each application, so one application costs an inquiry on every report. Plan it around other applications that are sensitive to inquiries. doctorofcredit.com (third-party)
- One Capital One card per six months. Data points collected by Doctor of Credit show Capital One approving only one new card per six months. A second Capital One application soon after this one is likely to be denied. doctorofcredit.com (third-party)
- Possible two-personal-card cap. Doctor of Credit lists a reported limit of two Capital One-branded personal cards, with co-branded cards not counting. It's a soft pattern, not a printed rule, but it can block this card if you already hold two. doctorofcredit.com (third-party)
- Travel eraser has a 90-day window. Covering a past travel purchase with miles only works within 90 days of the purchase posting. Older trips can't be erased. capitalone.com

YMMV: approval and bonus eligibility are the issuer's decision.
Sensei's move
Bonus first, then the Venture
The Venture offer only counts Venture and Venture X bonuses, not VentureOne, while the VentureOne offer counts all three. Earn this bonus first and you can still get a Venture bonus later; do it the other way round and this one is blocked for 48 months. Leave six months between Capital One applications.

No-fee home for your miles
Capital One lists the VentureOne among the cards that can transfer miles to partners. Move miles here from a Venture before closing it and they stay transferable with no annual fee.

Pair with a Savor for 3X miles
Move Savor cash back to the VentureOne at one cent per mile. Frequent Miler notes Savor's 3% categories then work as 3 miles per dollar on a no-fee pair.

Pool miles across accounts and people
Capital One lets you move miles between your own card accounts instantly, back and forth, under Rewards > Move Rewards. One Mile at a Time also reports you can share an unlimited number of miles with other Venture or Spark cardmembers, with no household requirement, by calling Capital One. That lets you top up a partner transfer or keep miles alive in a no-fee account before you close a fee card.

Sensei's take
20,000 miles for $500 is a small bonus, and earning it starts a 48-month clock across the whole Venture family on this card. Its real job is a no-fee keeper: it can transfer miles to partners and can receive miles from a Venture or cash back from a Savor. Get its bonus before any Venture bonus if you want both, and keep it open long term since it costs nothing.
