What the bonus is worth

Est. $1,080+ value

90,000 miles × 1.2¢

United MileagePlus miles have no fixed cash rate, so the floor is the low end of what points sites say they're worth: $1,080 at 1.2¢ per mile. Good redemptions reach 1.3¢ per mile.

What points sites say: 1.2¢ to 1.3¢ per mile

Third-party valuations: what points sites estimate points are worth on average, not a cash value or an issuer promise. Your value depends on how you redeem.

Estimate as of Oct 17, 2026.

Biggest catches

  • Chase 5/24 still applies to business cards. Business applications are subject to 5/24 even though Chase business cards don't add to your count. Over 5/24 means a likely denial. doctorofcredit.com (third-party)
  • Sole proprietors may face a 3/24 rule. Doctor of Credit has reports since September 2026 that Chase denies sole-proprietor business applicants with more than 3 new cards in 24 months. DoC calls it too early to be official. doctorofcredit.com (third-party)
  • No free Instacart+ on the business card. The monthly $10 Instacart credit needs an active Instacart+ membership paid with this card. Without one you get nothing. creditcards.chase.com
  • Free bag requires buying the ticket with the card. The free first bag for you and one companion only applies when this card paid for the ticket, except in the first 90 days. creditcards.chase.com
  • Bonus miles can be clawed back within six months. If the United Business card isn't open at least six months, United and Chase can deduct the bonus miles. Don't cancel or product-change before month seven. creditcards.chase.com
  • Cash-like transactions don't count toward the spend. Travelers checks, money orders, foreign currency, wire transfers, cryptocurrency, person-to-person transfers, balance transfers and fees aren't purchases. creditcards.chase.com
  • Rideshare credit needs a yearly opt-in. Nothing posts until you enroll, and the enrollment has to be renewed every year. creditcards.chase.com
  • Bonus posts 6 to 8 weeks after the spend. Don't book an award counting on the bonus miles right after you hit the spend. creditcards.chase.com

YMMV: approval and bonus eligibility are the issuer's decision.

Sensei's move

  1. Pair with a personal United card for 5,000 miles a year

If the authorizing officer is also primary cardmember on a personal United card (Explorer, Quest and the like), this card adds 5,000 bonus miles each anniversary. Both accounts must be open and not in default at the cycle after the anniversary.

  2. Cardholder award discount without a personal card

Since April 2, 2026 United cardholders get at least 10% off United awards (15% with Premier). The business card's fine print gives cardmembers the same at-least-10% pricing, so a business owner can get it without a personal United card. TPG says business cards' flight earning rate didn't change.

  3. Top up with Chase Ultimate Rewards

Ultimate Rewards from an Ink or Sapphire card transfer 1:1 to United, so an Ink Business Preferred plus this card covers big awards. FM notes United removed the Excursionist perk.

  4. Rebook the bonus every 24 months

The bonus rule is per card and 24 months, so you can return to it after cancelling, if you're under 5/24 (and, if the sole-prop reports hold, 3/24).

Sensei's take

  • Strong churn
  • Keep one year
  • Travel wallet: maybe

90,000 miles plus 2,000 PQP for $5,000, and 10,000 more for an employee card, is one of the stronger airline business bonuses, and it doesn't add to your 5/24 count. The $150 fee from day one is covered only if you use the Club passes, rideshare credit and the $125 flight-purchase credit; the rest is narrow. Keep it if you also hold a personal United card for the 5,000 anniversary miles and fly United for work; otherwise cancel after month six.

Public offers anyone could apply for since Oct 2023, from the bonus-history sources we checked. Whether the first-year fee was waived isn't counted. A targeted or referral offer went higher, to 135,000 miles, but not everyone could get it.
