What the bonus is worth

Est. $200+ value

20,000 points × 1¢

Wells Fargo Rewards points have no fixed cash rate, so the floor is the low end of what points sites say they're worth: $200 at 1¢ per point. Good redemptions reach 1.5¢ per point.

What points sites say: 1¢ to 1.5¢ per point

Third-party valuations: what points sites estimate points are worth on average, not a cash value or an issuer promise. Your value depends on how you redeem.

Estimate as of Oct 17, 2026.

Biggest catches

  • One bonus per product every 48 months. Wells Fargo may deny the bonus if you hold this card or opened one in the last 48 months, even if that account is now closed. Count from the open date of your last one, not the close date. creditcards.wellsfargo.com
  • One new Wells Fargo card every 4 months. Wells Fargo may decline a new personal card if you opened any Wells Fargo-branded consumer card in the last 4 months. Space out Active Cash, Autograph and Journey applications. creditcards.wellsfargo.com
  • Product changes never earn the bonus. Switching an existing Wells Fargo card into this one keeps your rewards balance but gives no new bonus or intro APR. To get the bonus you have to open a new account. creditcards.wellsfargo.com
  • Cash equivalents don't count toward the $1,000. The bonus counts net purchases, and cash advances, cash equivalents of any kind, balance transfers and fees are left out. Returns also come off the total. creditcards.wellsfargo.com

YMMV: approval and bonus eligibility are the issuer's decision.

Sensei's move

  1. Transfer points with no annual fee

The Autograph lets you transfer points to Wells Fargo's travel partners in any amount, with no annual fee. NerdWallet (June 2026) lists nine 1:1 airline partners, among them Air France-KLM, Avianca, British Airways, JetBlue and Virgin Atlantic, plus Choice and Wyndham at 1:2. That makes it the cheapest way to keep Wells Fargo transfers open.

  2. Turn Active Cash 2% into transferable points with an Autograph card

If you also hold an Autograph or Autograph Journey card, you can convert Active Cash cash rewards into Wells Fargo points and send them to the airline and hotel transfer partners. That makes the no-fee Active Cash a 2x-transferable everyday card. NerdWallet's June 2026 list has nine 1:1 airlines (including Air France-KLM, British Airways, JetBlue and Virgin Atlantic) and Choice and Wyndham at 1:2. We found no cut to this conversion as of today.

  3. Pool rewards across Wells Fargo cards and people

Wells Fargo Rewards from several cards, business and consumer, can be combined into one account, and rewards can be gifted to another Wells Fargo customer with a rewards card. Use it to gather points on whichever card opens transfers before you redeem, and to empty a card before you close it.

Sensei's take

  • Weak churn
  • Keeper
  • Travel wallet: maybe

The bonus is small and you can repeat it only once every 48 months, so it is not a churn target. Its real job is unlocking transfers for no fee. Keep it forever if you hold an Active Cash, because together they turn 2% cash into transferable points; on its own, it only belongs in a travel wallet if you use Wells Fargo's partners.
