How to get it
- Get the single-use promo code from Truist's offer page and enter it when you open the account; it can't be added later.
- Open a new Truist One Checking or Truist Marquee Checking account between 7/14/26 and 2/2/27.
- Within 120 days of opening, receive at least 2 qualifying direct deposits totaling $2,000 or more.
- In the same 120 days, complete at least 20 qualifying debit card purchases.
- Truist deposits the $500 within 10 business days after you qualify.
Fine print
- Not eligible if you are the primary holder of an existing Truist personal checking account or closed one on or after 7/14/25.
- Applicants need a physical address in AL, AR, FL, GA, IN, KY, MD, MS, NC, NJ, OH, PA, SC, TN, TX, VA, WV or DC, and a valid U.S. taxpayer ID.
- Direct deposits must be ACH credits over $5; Zelle, RTP, transfers between your own accounts and branch, ATM or mobile deposits don't count.
- ATM withdrawals, Zelle and bank fees don't count as debit purchases.
- The reward is forfeited if the account balance is $0 or negative, or the account is restricted or closed, at payout.
