Affected cards

What it means for churners

  • A big Airbnb bill can now earn 5x, as long as you book it through Amex Travel, not on airbnb.com.
  • The $250 credit only opens after an Airbnb Luxe booking, so it's worth it mainly if you'd book a Luxe home anyway.
  • The welcome offers and annual fees don't change.

Fine print

  • Applies to the Platinum Card and Business Platinum Card only. Other Membership Rewards cards earn 2x (Green 3x) on these Airbnb bookings.
  • Experiences that send you to a third-party platform (for example, live event tickets) don't count.
  • Cancel every Luxe booking that year and the $250 credit locks again, and credits already paid may be reversed.
  • Credits can take up to 8 weeks to post.
