What it means for churners
- This targeted offer is 100,000 points more than the public offerAn offer anyone can get by applying on the bank's own page, unlike targeted, referral or in-flight offers. Glossary for the same $30,000, with two fewer months to spend it: about $7,500 a month.
- At our point value, 300,000 points is about $5,325 for travel, against $3,550 for the public 200,000.
- Check your account before you apply anywhere else. Being pre-approved doesn't mean you'll see the 300,000: a Frequent Miler writer's spouse was pre-approved for only the 200,000.
Fine print
- Chase hasn't posted this offer on a public page. These terms are as reported by Doctor of Credit, Upgraded Points and Miles to Memories.
- No public end date stated, and no site says how many people are targeted.
- Pre-approval isn't a guarantee: eligibility rules still apply, such as Chase's 5/24 ruleChase's unwritten rule: it usually declines you if you've opened 5 or more personal cards from any bank in the past 24 months. Each new card uses one of the 5 slots. Glossary.
- Points are not cash; their value depends on how you redeem them.
