  2. Sign in to your Amex account and open the Membership Rewards transfer page.
  3. Pick Air France-KLM Flying Blue or Aeromexico Rewards and transfer in steps of 1,000 points by Oct 30. Amex's page estimates 48 hours for a transfer to arrive.

What it means for churners

  • Flying Blue: 25% is above the usual 20% (Doctor of Credit), so 50,000 Amex points become 62,500 miles. Miles to Memories calls it likely the more useful bonus: Flying Blue often prices Europe well, especially in its monthly sale on award flights.
  • Aeromexico: the numbers look bigger because 1,000 Amex points normally become 1,600 Aeromexico points; the bonus adds 320. Miles to Memories says Aeromexico awards aren't great in most cases.

Fine print

  • Sources differ on the last day. Flying Blue: Doctor of Credit and Miles to Memories say Oct 30, Frequent Miler says Oct 31. Aeromexico: Frequent Miler and Miles to Memories say Oct 30, Doctor of Credit says Oct 31. Transfer by Oct 30 to be safe.
  • Amex's public transfer page lists Flying Blue at 1,000 points = 1,000 miles and Aeromexico at 1,000 = 1,600, and doesn't show the bonuses. None of the sources mentions a cap or a sign-up step.
  • Miles and points are not cash; their value depends on how you redeem them.
